Anderson Bergamini de Neira

PhD candidate in the Graduate Program in Informatics at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). Bachelor of Computer Science from the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Mandaguari (2014), specialist in Object-Oriented Systems Development in Java from the University Center of Maringá, and Master of Computer Science from the State University of Maringá (2018). He has been developing systems since 2014, mainly using Java, Ionic, Python, and Angular technologies. The projects he has worked on are diverse, including: business management automation, distance learning, payroll, and systems for orchestration, automation, and incident response in cybersecurity (SOAR).

Charles Christian Miers

PhD from the Graduate Program in Electrical Engineering at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP) in P2P networks such as BitTorrent, Master’s in Computer Science with an emphasis on Security/Cryptography from CPGCC/UFSC, and postgraduate in Computer Networks from CPGCC/UFSC. In the private sector, he is an information security consultant (he was a founding partner of LockNet Security Solutions, where he worked until 2003), having participated in various projects for national (private and public) and multinational companies. At the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP), he coordinated several research projects with Ericsson Research and worked on projects with RNP and the European Community (FP7). His research focuses on cloud computing, computer network security, and ICT sustainability. He currently assists in coordinating the LabP2D (Parallel and Distributed Processing Laboratory) at UDESC, which has a private IaaS cloud with OpenStack. He has been a lecturer and researcher since 2003.

Felipe Augusto Schaedler Damin

Graduated in Computer Engineering (2021) from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (Poli-USP). He is currently a Master’s student in the Graduate Program in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Computing at Poli-USP and works as a researcher at the Laboratory of Computer Architecture and Networks (LARC) in the area of digital security, focusing on secure software architectures. He has also worked professionally in technology teams at various startups and in the field of digital security. He is currently also involved in professional projects related to Machine Learning.

Ivan da Silva Sendin

Professor at the Federal University of Uberlândia since 2014. He was also a professor at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) in Catalão from 2004 to 2014. PhD in Computer Science from the Institute of Computing at the State University of Campinas (2012), with an emphasis on uncertainty representation and the development of algorithms and software related to structural bioinformatics and optimization. Master’s degree in Computer Science from Unicamp (2000), focusing on cryptographic hash functions. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the State University of Londrina (1996). Worked in research and development at Alellyx Applied Genomics (Monsanto) from 2002 to 2004 and at the Bioinformatics Laboratory at Unicamp from 2001 to 2002, where he was a FAPESP fellow.

Kristtopher K. Coelho

Bachelor and Master in Computer Science from the Federal University of Viçosa, Brazil. Currently, he is a PhD candidate in Computer Science at the same university. He conducts research on data security and privacy for body area networks (WBAN) and the Internet of Health Things (IoHT). His current research includes the evaluation and development of tools for biometric authentication combined with the use of centralized Machine Learning (ML) and decentralized techniques (Federated Learning – FL). Previous research includes the evaluation of the practical impact of lightweight block and stream cipher algorithms on energy consumption and hardware resources for wearable devices. It also includes the study of skin as a secure channel for transmitting sensitive data, such as cryptographic keys. In this application scenario, the aim is to provide more security and solve the secret key management problem for cryptographic algorithms. His research background also involves the development of low-cost electronic systems for transfer using the ionic environment.

She works on research focused on computer networks, intra-corporate networks, and network security. She has experience in presenting papers and short courses. She holds a Master’s degree in Computational Technologies for Agribusiness from the Federal Technological University of Paraná — Medianeira Campus, 2017, and a Specialization in Computer Networks: Design and Implementation from the Federal Technological University of Paraná — Cornélio Procópio Campus, 2014. Marcos Antonio Simplício Jr.

Holds a degree in Electrical Engineering (2006), with an Emphasis on Computing, from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (Poli-USP). He holds a Master of Science degree (2006) from Ecole Centrale Paris (France, 2006) and a Master’s (2008), PhD (2010), and Habilitation (2017) in Electrical Engineering/Digital Systems from Poli-USP, where he is currently an Associate Professor and researcher. He is vice-coordinator of the Special Commission on Information Security and Computer Systems of the Brazilian Computer Society (CESeg-SBC). He has been involved in cryptography and cybersecurity projects since 2007, covering aspects such as the design and analysis of cryptographic primitives and protocols and general security systems. During this period, he coordinated and participated in several projects funded by private enterprises, government agencies, and funding bodies, addressing scenarios such as electronic voting, vehicular networks, cloud computing, peer-to-peer (P2P) networks, mobile health, secure password storage, banking transactions, blockchain, and the Internet of Things. The results have translated into more than a hundred publications in the security field, including prominent academic papers, national and international patents, and contributions to international norms and standards.

In the private sector, he is an information security consultant (he was a founding partner of LockNet Security Solutions), having worked on various projects for national (private and public) and multinational companies. He was a university professor at institutions such as UDESC, SOCIESC, SENAI, ACE, and FCJ, and a postgraduate professor at SENAC in SC and FASUL (PR) in the areas of Information Security and Computer Networks. At the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP), he coordinated several research projects with Ericsson Research and worked on projects with RNP and the European Community (FP7). He conducts research in cloud computing, computer network security, ICT sustainability, and cryptography. He is currently a professor at the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina, conducting research in Biometric Template Protection and coordinating the Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems.

Michele Nogueira

CNPq Research Productivity Fellow, 1D, works in the areas of computer networks and network security. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from Sorbonne Université – UPMC/LIP6, France, and completed a Postdoctoral fellowship at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), USA. She is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). Her research has resulted in the proposition of mathematical models, protocols, and system architectures. She was a member of the advisory committee of the Special Commission on Information Security and Computer Systems of the Brazilian Computer Society. She was an associate technical editor of the journal “IEEE Communications Magazine” (2012-2020) and is an associate editor of the journals “Computer Communications,” “Journal of Network and Systems Management,” and “IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials.” She coordinates the IEEE ComSoc Internet Technical Committee and the Special Commission on Information Security and Computer Systems (CESeg) of SBC. She has extensive experience in delivering lectures and short courses in Brazil and abroad.

He is currently a Full Professor at the University of São Paulo, Department of Computer Engineering, director of LARC – Laboratory of Computer Architecture and Networks, and a Full Member of the National Academy of Engineering (ANE). His main areas of expertise include information security, computer networks, distance education, and performance evaluation
